Citroen DS5 to get UK debut at Top Gear Live
The latest iteration of Citroen’s recreation of the iconic DS moniker – the Citroen DS5 – made a production-ready debut at Frankfurt last month, and now UK drivers will be getting their first chance to see the new DS5 at the Top Gear Live shows. And it’s a good move by Citroen to get the new DS5 front and centre at the Top Gear Live shows – which will be at the NEC in Birmingham and the ExCel in London in November – to prove to those who love cars just how good the DS5 is. From initial scepticism when Citroen first revealed they were reviving the DS badge, we’ve come to love what Citroen has done with the new DS cars.
China's Hawtai Automotive invest €150 million in Saab
As you can’t have failed to notice, Saab has stopped production because it’s run out of money. And despite the best efforts of Vladimir Antonov to throw money at Saab, the EIB and the Swedish Debt Office seemed unwilling to move quickly to allow Saab to get back in to production. But things they are a-changing.
The next new car from McLaren – codenamed P13 and set to take on the Porsche 911 and Audi R8 – now looks set to arrive in 2014. McLaren’s plans for a new range of road cars have been in play for a number of years, and we initially expected the 12C to arrive first to take on the Ferrari 458, which it did, followed by a cheaper McLaren set to take on cars like the Porsche 911 and Audi R8. We got the McLaren MP4-12C (which McLaren now like us to call the 12C) followed by the 12C Spider – just as we first thought - but it seems McLaren was under pressure from its new dealer network to get the replacement for the legendary F1 out next, so McLaren switched tack and delivered the new McLaren P1.
